Our Mission

California SPCA is committed to ensuring every homeless animal has a chance at life. We partner with municipal, private, and nonprofit shelters to make sure every animal that is not irremediably suffering finds safety, care, and a loving home. Pet ownership is growing, not declining, and there are plenty of adopters in our community.

Offsite Micro Adoption Events!

Shelters struggle to attract visitors to their facilities. We recruit animal-loving volunteers and host multiple small adoption events throughout the city where humans work, shop, and play. They get to meet, pet, fall in love with, and adopt these sweet, homeless fur-children. 

If you've always wanted to help save the lives of shelter animals, this is your chance! If you are an animal-lover, 18 or over, hard-working and dependable, please join our volunteer teams. Shelter animals need your love and action to help them get back out into the community from which they came.
