Our Strategy
California Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Inc. is committed to living up to the words in our name by ensuring every homeless animal has a chance at life. We partner with municipal, private, and nonprofit shelters to make sure every animal that is not irremediably suffering finds safety, care, and a loving home.

Offsite Micro Adoption Events!
Data shows that less than 25% of humans get new fur-family members from shelters. So, we help by recruiting animal-loving volunteers who host adoption events throughout the city, away from shelters, where humans work, shop, and play. Potential new adopters get to meet, pet, fall in love with, and adopt these sweet, homeless fur-children.

From the CEO down, we are ALL volunteers!
If you want to help us save the lives of shelter animals, and you are an empathetic animal-lover, 18 or over, hard-working and dependable, please join our Offsite Micro Adoption Teams! Shelter fur-children need your help to get back into the community from which they came. Contact us and let's go save the animals together!
If you’re not able to join an adoption team, you can still help save lives. Please become a monthly donor or make a one-time gift to fund the offsite adoption events that get shelter dogs seen, chosen, and adopted.
Your tax-deductible donation helps pay for tents, crates, signage, and other essential event gear and supports basic operating costs so we can keep this work moving across California and beyond.
Transparency: Donations are not used to compensate our executive leadership. We work as unpaid volunteers!
